The Electronic Instrument System (EIS) consists of six display units (DU's) that display
- The Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Navigation Display (ND) on the Captain side and the First Officer side
- The Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitor (ECAM) that presents data on the Engine/Warning Dislay (E/WD) and the System Display (SD)
The EIS has been implemented in both the EIS 1 standard as well as the EIS 2 standard.
The DU has been build as separate stand-alone program that can be configured to function as PFD, ND, E/WD or SD.
It runs on any Microsoft Windows PC in the network, and communicates over the network with the central simulator core engine.
At present, it is not possible to run the DU's on Linux / Raspberry. This is foreseen in future.
Primary Flight Display
The Primary Flight Display (PFD) presents the key flight data such as Attitude, Airspeed, Altitude and Heading.
Navigation Display
The Navigation Display (ND) presents the navigation data under the form of 5 different display modes (ROSE LS, ROSE VOR, ROSE NAV, ARC, PLAN).
ECAM Engine/Warning Display
The Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitor (ECAM) Engine/Warning Display (E/WD) presents the engine operational parameters, and messages related to failures and memos.
ECAM System Display
The Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitor (ECAM) System Display (SD) presents the synoptic diagrams of the aircraft systems, and the status messages under the form of 12 pages.
