Airbus A320 simulator

"as real as it gets"

Targetted towards the advanced home cockpit simulator community, we are building a truly spectacular A320 simulator that makes use of a real original Airbus cockpit, combined with super detailed and realistic own developed software.

Although we do not strive for formal certification, we want to provide an immersive experience that comes as close as possible to flying a professional certified FTD (Flight Training Device).

About

Hardware
We use a real cockpit from an Airbus that has been decommissioned and taken out of service. The complete cockpit shell, as well as the cockpit interior are original Airbus parts. All the cockpit panels and instruments are being interfaced with own developed A320 Simulator Software.
Software
We developed our own A320 Simulator Software which models in great detail all of the aircraft systems and implements the A320's functionality. It interfaces with a standard off the shelf Flight Simulator package that implements the basic flight aerodynamics and scenery visuals.

Our Team

We are a team of simulator enthousiasts. Accumulated over many years, the project team has gained a deep knowledge on aviation in general and the Airbus family of aircrafts in particular.

He is the driving force and visionairy behind the project.

Relentlessly he has been working to finally get all of the original Airbus parts together.

The hardware guy on the team.

He is a genius in designing electronics and makes his own printed circuit boards.

Self educated he masters the art of developing hardware and software better than anyone else.

Beyond that, he is also uniquely skilled in mechanical design.

Bruno

Bruno

The software guy in the team.

Passioned by aviation he originally considered to become a pilot, but he chose a different direction and graduated with a university degree in engineering.

Combining his passion for aviation and wanting to maintain his computer and software skills, he started programming the A320 Simulator software a number of years back. Originally fully stand alone, not intended to be linked with any cockpit hardware whatsoever. It grew from in the very beginning drawing a simple gauge to proof himself that it was feasible, to modeling in very high detail and realism a complete Airbus with all of its systems.

Meeting the two other guys on the team who were building a hardware cockpit was a revelation. All suddenly everything became much more realistic.

Simulator Software


Modular Design
The different cockpit components are developed as seperate stand-alone applications. These cockpit modules can be launched independently.
Distributed Architecture
The different cockpit modules can be distributed over multiple PC's connected over a network, and automatically discover each other. Running all modules on a single high performant PC is also possible.
Simulator Software Characteristics
Multi Platform
Some of the cockpit modules can run on either Microsoft Windows or RaspBerry Pi. This way the most space efficient and cost effective implementation is possible.
Simulator Package Agnostic
All data is gathered through the real aircraft sensors. This makes the A320 Simulator engine agnostic of any particular flight sim package (cf. FSX, X-Plane, P3D,...).
